I'll be back.

Hello old and new friends. My blog has been inactive but I am still around. I loom-knit, weave and have picked up the sticks to needle knit, too! My patterns page links to Ravelry and I will answer questions about those. Maybe someday I will be back to write more. We will see where life takes me.

SOCKSS!

Earlier this week, I pulled on my first finished pair of bulky socks. It's too bad they're too toasty for summer-wear. But they were my initiation before I could start my first teeny-tiny-yarn socks.

first socks!

Bulky socks ... Can you tell which one is my second? It shows off cables that actually line up and a proper kitchener stitch! Someday, I might knit up a third sock so it has a proper mate.

Here is a sparkly sock on my new EvenKnit loom. OK, so it doesn't really look sock-like yet. I'm still trying to find my rhythm on this nifty new loom so they might take a bit longer.

I am trying out Isela Phelp's tulip socks pattern (PDF link). The yarn-over sounded scary until I realized it's just an easy-peasy e-wrap!

"WIPing" startitis

Oh startitis, how you creep up on me. The lure of new yarn pulls me in and the pattern intrigues. And then you leave me with several partially done projects. What a tease!

Pinwheel washcloth WIP
Pinwheel cloth

Some new side affects include a pinwheel cloth that makes short rows fun and a mystery loom-a-long that has me wondering "what will it be?" Older symptons are too numerous to count (poncho, chunky socks, kitchen cloth, bunny wabbit, Yarn Bee blanket, etc.) I've made some progress since those linked photos but not nearly enough to document.

And as soon as my new fine-gauge sock loom arrives in the mailbox, we know what will happen. Berroco Sox metallic yarn, I'm looking at you.

At least one project that was left behind came back this week. Sure, the snake hat has mega-tight cables that made my wrist twist in pain. But I figured out how to decrease those cables into something easier on me. I like my snake again and I think we'll get along for a few weeks.

I'm not cured from startitis though. A felted purse for my grandma calls me. And I think it's justified. It's a birthday present. Her birthday was in January. Oooh, such pretty alpaca and wool yarn! And it's a stash-buster for some orphan skeins. Can you help me chose colors for stripes?

Hmm, what will I knit tonight?

Hip to be square

Shape tweens are pretty rad. I learned to love 'em while making my second Flash music video for Plat aka The Cow Exchange aka — you know who I mean.

With my scrappy Actionscript know-how, this one has a homepage! With two choices! Do you take your music with or without captions? You might even see a preloader if your Internets are slow.
